Arriving in Istanbul
Istanbul Airport is about 40 kilometres from the congress centre. The journey can take between one and two hours depending on traffic, so allow more time than a map might suggest. Official taxi stands are outside the terminal, and airport shuttle buses connect the airport with central districts.
Options from the airport
Airport shuttle
The Havaist service runs between Istanbul Airport and central points including Taksim. The journey is comfortable, with luggage space, and drops passengers close to the congress area. Check the current timetable and fare before travelling.
Taxi
Official taxis are available outside the terminal. Fares are metered, and the final cost depends on traffic and the route. Use the official stand rather than an informal offer.
Metro
The M2 line connects Yenikapi and Haciosman, with stops at Taksim and Osmanbey. Both stations are about seven minutes on foot from the Istanbul Congress Center.
Funicular and metrobus
The F1 funicular links Taksim and Kabatas. The metrobus network connects Mecidiyekoy with the metro and bus system, giving another route into the centre.
Once in the city
Several bus routes stop near Harbiye, including services from Taksim, Eminonu and Mecidiyekoy. The ICC is a short walk from the stop opposite TRT Istanbul Radio. Minibuses from Besiktas to Harbiye also stop within a few minutes of the centre.
For current fares and timetables, check the official transport operator pages. The Havaist website is the best place to start for airport transfers.
Traffic in Istanbul can be heavy at peak times. If you are travelling to a specific session, leave a generous margin and keep a printed or offline copy of your route.
