WHEC 2022

General

Who took part in WHEC 2022?

The conference was open to academics, doctoral and master's students, researchers, policy makers, professionals and anyone with an interest in hydrogen energy. The programme was designed for specialists and for people entering the field.

Was the conference in English?

Yes. English was the official language. Abstracts, papers and presentations were in English, and there was no simultaneous translation.

What did the programme cover?

The technical programme included plenary, keynote, invited and general sessions, plus poster sessions. The social programme included an opening reception, a formal dinner and a guided tour of historic places. The edition was hybrid, with physical and online participation.

Submissions

How did the submission process work?

Authors prepared a short paper and uploaded it through the conference management system. The short paper page sets out the structure and the review steps used in 2022.

What was the page limit?

A short paper could be up to three pages, including tables and figures. The file had to be in Word format and no larger than 20 MB.

Was there a review process?

Yes. Papers went through a review process. Authors could see the decision and reviewer comments in the conference system. If a revision was requested, a clean and unmarked file had to be uploaded within two weeks of the decision email.

How many papers could one author present?

Each registered author could present up to two papers. A coauthor could present additional papers if they registered separately, but each person could still present a maximum of two.

Who decided whether a paper was oral or poster?

The organising committee decided the presentation format. Authors could indicate a preference during submission, and the committee tried to accommodate it where the programme allowed.

When were special issue papers selected?

Selection began after the conference. The special issues page explains the route for presented papers.

How could a delegate get an invitation letter?

The secretariat provided invitation letters on request to registered participants. The letter was sent by email.

How did delegates get from the airport to the venue?

The travel guide covers taxi, airport shuttle, metro, funicular, metrobus and bus options. The congress centre is about 40 kilometres from Istanbul Airport.
