Divisions as working communities
The International Association for Hydrogen Energy organises its members into divisions that focus on a specialist area. The divisions give researchers a smaller community within the larger association, and they create a route for specialist questions to reach the conference programme.
The divisions cover biohydrogen, codes and standards, hydrogen energy systems, hydrogen safety, hydrogen storage, nuclear hydrogen, young scientists and student chapters. Each has its own interests, but they meet around the same conference and share the same commitment to the field.
The divisions
Biohydrogen
Biological production routes, microbiology and the engineering of biohydrogen systems.
Codes and standards
The rules, tests and safety frameworks that allow hydrogen technologies to be deployed.
Hydrogen energy systems
Integrated systems, storage, conversion and the design of whole energy chains.
Hydrogen safety
Risk assessment, incident analysis, safety engineering and public confidence.
Hydrogen storage
Materials, carriers, compression, liquefaction and the interfaces with transport.
Nuclear hydrogen
Heat and power from nuclear systems as a route to clean hydrogen.
Young scientists
A community for early career researchers and a route into international collaboration.
Student chapters
Local student groups connected to the international association and its activities.
Read about the association on the IAHE page. The governance meetings are described under board and committee meetings.
