Time for governance
A conference week is also an opportunity for the bodies behind it to meet. The 2022 programme included time for board and committee meetings of the organising associations and for the scientific and advisory groups that support the conference. These were working sessions rather than public presentations.
The meetings covered the usual ground: programme decisions, membership questions, the next edition and the coordination between the international association and the national host. They also gave committee members who had travelled to Istanbul a chance to meet in person after months of remote preparation.

Participation in board and committee meetings was by invitation. Public programme sessions were open to registered delegates.
